Meet Our Team
Dr. Jana Barfield
Originally from Southwest Arkansas, Dr. Jana Barfield is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She completed her pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, CO. Although she didn’t grow up in the area, she has many fond memories of visiting her many relatives in the North Little Rock & Sherwood area as a child. After several years of working as an associate pediatric dentist, she decided to open her own practice and knew that this would be a great location. In her free time, Dr. Jana enjoys cooking, traveling, music and theater, and spending time with family. She and her husband, Stephen, have four wonderful rescue pets-Barley, a dog, and three cats, Molly, Lilly, and Charles.
What does it mean to be Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry?
Not all pediatric dentists are certified by American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). The ABPD certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary 2-part written and oral examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care. Dr. Jana was a recipient of the Pugh Award of Excellence for scoring in the top 3% on the written portion of the ABPD examination.
A pediatric dentist certified by ABPD is also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jana is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
